La-Toria Haven founded Vision Quest Media & Motion Pictures to protect lost, forgotten, and buried civilizations around the globe. It has evolved to also empower the descendants of these great cultures and nurture their entrepreneurial spirits.
As a child in New Orleans, La-Toria quenched her thirst for knowledge in local libraries and archives. This curiosity was propelled into the atmosphere on a family trip to Central America, where she commandeered her parents’ movie camera to interview a group of archaeologists. It was here that she overheard the legend of a lost city buried deep in the jungle. At age eight she knew, with great clarity, that she must uncover this lost city. And here, an amateur archaeologist was born.
Her life’s work has been a gentle blend of film and philanthropy, and her expansive historical film archive has been organized for the purpose of educating generations to come and is in the process of being converted into a series of interactive learning centers---maybe the next will be in your community....
In 2008, she founded Vision Quest Media & Motion Pictures, based in Cape Town, South Africa. She constructed BUY ME a multimedia program that seeks and unites innovators, pairing them with others and data to assist in the articulation of their dreams. Her program has boosted tourism, foreign investment and altered perceptions of South Africa abroad. With her perpetually evolving lost civilizations , travel, and archaeology series, she is building partnerships with indigenous peoples and local governments to help nations take part in protecting and promoting their natural history and cultural patrimony.
During the pandemic, with a team of quarantined creatives, she founded Tanjí Trading Co., a modern multi-media trading platform that brings tales of innovation, entrepreneurship and exploration to inquiring minds. Additionally, in divining a range of travel products adorned with original art, Tanjí will assist students in the form of grants and scholarships. The first creative community to whom Tanjí has devoted her creative light is that of Florence, the city that focused La-Toria’s creative consciousness.
